Every day since lockdown is me one day closer to declaring bankruptcy and losing the business I built and love for over 14 years. So, when the Spanish government announced that beauty salons could open on Monday, and my phone flooded with requests for reservations, I was ecstatic. My employees are terrified.
Beauty salons are a 100% touch, close proximity business. Yet, the Spanish government is allowing us to open first – before restaurants, retail shops, movie theaters, and gyms. They gave us a few days to prepare for the opening, and they provide unclear guidelines.
I closed my beauty salons before the Spanish government mandate, and I will continue to keep them closed to protect the public. I don’t believe it is safe for beauty salons to open next week.
